Riding The Rails
SPL's signature 120V rail technology

SPL's proprietary VOLTAiR technology allows for more streamlined power amplifier design traits. The m1000 requires only 1 preamp op-amp to drive its bipolar power amp transistors, and the number of signal path components in general is much lower than many other designs.

The Performer m1000 offers up 1000 clean watts into 2 Ohms and 750 W into 4 Ohms with an extremely fast, direct and extraordinary sound.

Each amplifier is also equipped with a slave-through XLR output, plus an input trim switch for fine tuning gain adjustments.

Toroidal Testing
SPL's specially chosen Toroidal transformer

SPL tested components widely to determine the best possible transformer to drive the m1000 model. The 1375 VA toroidal was selected in order to retain a fully analogue power amp design, and because its results (in SPL's opinion) easily outpace the sound performance of digital amplifiers or any amp utilising a switch mode power supply.

The m1000's power supply has a capacitance of 54400 µF which handles screening, electricity storage and also ensures faithful reproduction of impulse peaks. The transformer itself is mounted on a separate plate fitted with rubber dampers to avoid any additional noise during operation.
